If I honest I didn't expect anything about this album, but it was able to surprise me (I'm not a Shawn stand but I love a lot of his songs). Shawn gave us a good album, it's nice, it's cozy. Dream and Can’t Imagine bring out the emotion and vibe that Mendes wants you to feel in the most breathtaking way. He’s outdone himself, and I believe this is his best album so far! Expand

Out of all of Shawn’s past albums, Wonder is an evident stand out from the beginning. With stand outs including; Higher, Piece of You, and Look Up At The Stars, there are tones of rock, pop, and 60s/70s music all intertwined in an incredibly cohesive album. Being very different from Mendes’ past works, it shows an immense amount of growth vocally, artistically, and musically. This is such a great album. It's started with Intro that makes the album feels like magic. Teach Me How To Love will make you dance. While Higher focuses on Shawn's vocals. I just want to say that production of this album is also admirable. Great job, Shawn

The evolution of Shawn in music is evident. He managed to make an album with a roller coaster of feelings, you find everything you need in it, being a sound for a summer afternoon or a rainy and calm day. The proof that an album doesn't need a lot of grand feats to be good enough, its tracks do it all by themselves.

A wonderful new and fresh era from the man who must be older than 22 but isn’t. This album brings retro vibes, heartache and love and everything I could wish for. Shawn has given his audience a piece of his heart and has grown immensely since his third studio album.

While the slower songs are fine, sometimes sincere, the growth on Wonder is all evident on the livelier tunes, all of which point toward a more adventurous twenties for Shawn Mendes.

While “Wonder” is at times overambitious and overwrought, it does feel like the last stop on a particular journey. Mendes can’t sound much bigger than this without going full Adele, so what might come next is wide open.

Mendes spends nearly every minute bowled over by the power of love. It’s nice to see his cup overflow so bountifully, but the near-constant awe quickly grows tiresome, especially when conveyed through clichés like, “Your body’s like an ocean, I’m devoted to explore you” and, “You’re my sunlight on a rainy day.”
