Like the best music of Michael Bolton and Barry Manilow, Blanck Mass has created a real stunner of an album here. One weak track--the Coldplay cover really didn't work for me. Oh well. Still great.

This ambitious electronic album has incredible attention to dynamics and form within the seven massive songs, with the variety of repetitions and hidden use of harmonic drones always maintaining intensity and vigor. My Score: 132/180 (Solid) = 7.3/10

World Eater is simultaneously his brightest and darkest album yet, full of walls of noise that could seem forbiddingly remote if not for the way Power consistently brings things back to the human experience.

Only time will tell which albums will ring out as genuine artefacts and which will be revealed as little more than sound and fury, signifying nothing. [Apr 2017, p.46]

It may be Power’s most fatalistic declaration, but also his most engagingly diverse, and his marked exasperations do reflect a not-so-distant dystopia that suitably aligns with today’s societal disconnect.
