When it comes down to it this album is really a hidden classic. In Transit, Everybody Gets A Star, Bright Young Thing, Blue Skies, 101, Hard to Live in The City. These are amazing, instant classic. Super catchy, songs, and although some songs for example Postal Blowfish, Well...Alright, are not that great. Albert Hammond Jr. proves he can go solo in this great debut album.

Reminds me of the days when the strokes were still relevant and it might just be nostalgia but I really like this album a lot. It's a nice surprise to see Albert is a good singer/songwriter and made a great solo album with this.

I am very impressed with Hammond's vocals and knack for catchy tunes. I never even knew he could speak, let alone make an album this good.

Very solid album. Too bad it wasn't released a few months later (It came out here in february) because it really would be a perfect album for a care free summer day on the beach or at the cottage. His voice is actually pretty good (could just be alot of mixing and distortion) and the guitar reminds you alot of early strokes set to care free alt-pop rock

Upon just one listen I would say this is a pretty good pop album. Much better than the last two Strokes albums.

Nothing special here. Another reviewer is exactly right about the Sean Lennon influences. They are too easy to spot and ruin an album that could have been okay.

Disappointing. Sorry folks, but I don't think this album would get much notice he wasn't in the Strokes.

Love the lennon influences. Also, did anyone else notice that he steals the opening chords from that Hilary Duff song for 101? Genius!

if you're looking for a strokes album, you'll be disappointed. it's charming and simple, definitely worth a listen.

Wow! Well done Albert. I have seen The Strokes perform live and I noticed how great Mr Hammond Jr was then, but little did I know he could sing too! A very good album. Kind of 'Strokesey' in sound but much more laid back.

Fantastic album and the indie kids are going to hate me - I like it better than the latest Strokes offering. "101" and "Scared" are definitely the stand out tracks for me.

Pleasant tunes, noticable influence of the Stokes sound in some of them (or perhaps its the influence of Hammond's sounds in the Stokes material). Some of it better than the strokes, others fall short. Overall definitely worth a listen.

  1. None of the songs on "Yours to Keep" lack a naggingly memorable chorus; none is remotely inaccessible; and none is less than excellently crafted.
  2. At some points, you listen and think 'my God, this is actually better than The Strokes'.
  3. An intimate, frequently beautiful and consistently surprising record that gets better with every listen.
