It would seem unthinkable but it’s true that the Old Hunters is even more challenging than the main game. Bosses and mobs are here to make our life much harder, but also to make us beg for even more! From Software delivers another unique experience depicted through a beautifully somber environment of which Lovecraft would be proud.
Offering 6-8 hours of fresh content, The Old Hunters exemplifies DLC that actually enriches the sources rather than simply milking fans with lacklustre skins and the like.
Best dlc ever. Ludwig, Lady Maria, Orphan of Kos are some of the greatest bosses ever made and the level design is absolutely top notch. And that music, bruh! Unreal.
The Old Hunters honors Bloodborne in its deepest form. The uniquely designed, eery worlds offer a great place to enjoy the awesome fighting system. You will never feel safe, but you will often feel satisfied.
The Old Hunters is a decent expansion for Bloodborne owners. It gives you 10 new weapons, tons of content and 4 different boss fight. If you loved Bloodborne, you'll definitely love The Old Hunters too.
The Old Hunters is a very good DLC that needs some time to gain full momentum and even during weaker moments its quality is high. The artistic vision isn't as clear and overwhelming as in the basic game but I had great fun and all Bloodborne fans will feel the same, I'm sure.
ludwig is my all time favorite boss, which is boasting an extremely ugly exterior, yet swinging a pristine moonlight greatsword just like a true knight and hunter.
Old Hunters is a pretty solid expansion that adds more Bloodborne content and should be a must pick for all Bloodborne fans. On the other hand, I wasn't really blown away by it in a way I was with vanilla game, it doesn't really improve the base game, just adds more stuff, areas, few bosses and plays it quite safe. Bosses I feel are the strongest part, with again fantastic music and challenge, Lady Maria being my favourite, intensive and hard duel in a beautiful setting. From weapons I loved the new Moonlight sword which in combination with Loch shield and metal helm pushed me to create a really nice paladin character. On the other hand, i was not such a huge fan of new locations and the overall story left me a bit disappointed by the time I finished it. However, it made me go through entire Bloodborne again and refreshed my opinion that this game is just a total masterpiece. 7/10
Just to put things in perspective, I gave the main game a 10/10 and absolutely loved it. This DLC was entertaining but somewhat disappointing. I think my main gripe is that if I look at the entire package--for example, if I had bought the complete game with DLC included and started my first play through from scratch--the DLC doesn't seem to fit in very well with everything else. It just felt very much like they tacked on a few extra levels with some very tough enemies and bosses for the sake of pushing DLC out. The weapons have a coolness factor to them, for sure, but ultimately they don't get the job done any better than the previous weapons, which makes them pretty useless as you progress. And the settings were almost entirely copies of settings from the main game that they tweaked and called the Hunter's Nightmare so they could produce "new" areas quickly and cheaply. I guess I was hoping for more considering it took 8 months for the DLC to come out and cost quite a bit for a DLC. Overall it was pretty good because I love the Bloodborne style of play, but relative to the rest of the game it's hard to give it a higher score than a 7/10.
So I'm not sure why this game is so highly rated, its not "difficult" you have like 3 attacks and a gun with a stupid shot, no shields, you can only dodge roll, which is ridiculous, so you blindly jump around each enemy has a "special direction to jump in" which im sure you will fight and realize the game is not difficult once you find the ques, jump, or roll in said direction use said attack, rinse repeat stab yourself in the leg, yup, anywho all in all its not fun, game is quite unfair (learning the magical direction to jummp in) more than difficult, and the gameplay is repitive, scenery is completely repititve , before you say im just unskilled or don't understand it, dark souls 3 was the bomb i loved it plenty of everything this game lacks, abilities weapons, scenery, more than 1 way to kill an enemy, play how you want but be carefull kinda gameplay spend the extra money buy dark souls 3 which is what this game should have been, i give it a 3 for making me realize huh i wish this game was like i dont know diffrent and picked up ds3 and was like ohhhhhh this is what i wanted -.-
Bloodborne was too easy for me, yet this **** is ridiculous..
copy pasted enemies, bosses, and locations and a difficulty beyond reason makes this the ****tiest expansion i've ever played, don't belief the reviews for this one folks.
