Freaking Meatbags is a fun combination of the tower defense and real-time strategy genres. Throw in the witty dialog, the lovely visuals, not to mention the crazy combinations possible when it comes to DNA splicing between humans and aliens, and you'll be quite entertained with it.
Freaking Meatbags makes three hackneyed genres feel fresh and exciting again, uniting real-time strategy, tower defence and twinstick shooting with the simple joys of obscene genetic experimentation. Though it sometimes feels like the prototype for a timeless classic, the tiny team managed to deliver a solid, stylish, humorous and satisfying package at a bargain price.
Freaking Meatbags excels at cynical jokes and dark humor, but no matter how amusing the dialogues are, they’re not enough to compensate for the excruciatingly dull gameplay.
Whether or not you’ll enjoy the game is entirely dependent on how much you enjoy oddball humor and being surprised. In short, if the title Freaking Meatbags piqued your curiosity, trust that instinct and dig in.
