    For the first time in a long time, a game has lived up (and in my opinion surpassed) the hyped that’s been created around it. Frankly, I’ll be surprised if BIOMUTANT is not game of the year.

    I enjoyed my time with BIOMUTANT and I can’t wait to replay the game and see how it will play out if I make just a few minor changes to some of the decisions I made throughout the game.

    Biomutant definitely has its charms: its post-apocalyptic open world is filled with lush environments and the combat encounters are entertaining, making for a fun game experience, albeit one that is sometimes a bit repetitive.

    Biomutant is a competent open-world role-playing game featuring a charming atmosphere and some solid RPG mechanics. Sadly, it fails to stand out due to its by-the-books open-world formula and the sluggish combat system. While the game does work for the most part and there are some interesting ideas here and there, there isn't a lot that Biomutant does better than most open-world games out there, resulting in an experience that is somewhat forgettable.

    Biomutant is a game with a true great potential but it just misses the mark on so many aspects. I hope to see Experiment 101 try to develop another game and see this potential through, in hopes that I won’t be disappointed again.

    Biomutant’s positives ever so slightly outweigh its faults and with more time (and patches), it could grow into a much more entertaining game. Its unique world, extensive customisation and pool of interesting moves and tricks in battle make this game fun to play but for now, a colourful but empty world, a wealth of glitches, and dull objectives make it a tough sell.

    Biomutant is what happens when someone makes an Ubisoft game, but without Ubisoft’s resources, experience, talent, or even willingness to take risks. With the exception of the art design, everything about Biomutant feels safe and familiar, but without the confidence or polish needed to make it effective. Safe, familiar, and hopelessly lost in the detritus-littered wasteland between design document and actual game.

    This game is like nothing else out there. An absolutely beautiful interesting world to explore. There is so much to do around every corner.This game is like nothing else out there. An absolutely beautiful interesting world to explore. There is so much to do around every corner. It's like a post-apocalyptic breath of the wild but much more to do. One of the best combat systems in gaming that feels like nothing I've ever played. And I'm a big hardcore Souls type gamer. The world is beautiful and the characters are very interesting. The weapons are some of the best in gaming. The magic system is one of the best magic systems in gaming, which is always what I look for, a great magic system and man does this nail it. The Monster hunting in here is better than Monster Hunter and Witcher 3 and Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. The story is good enough. But a game that has this good of a combat system and exploration you really don't need a story hens breath of the wild again. This game does so much right, I really don't have any knit picks. Do not do yourself a disservice and pay attention to all of the negative reviews. Give it a try for yourself. It's probably the most original game I've played in the past few years. The gameplay Loop is one of the most addictive I have ever had the pleasure to be addicted to. I have to pry myself away from this game and I can't wait to get back to it.… Expand

This is surprising because this level of depth is pretty much AAA level, despite not being an AAA title.

    The game could use some improvements on the controls, it is fluid, but the animations and feedback could be better. Meanwhile the audio design for this game is abysmal, the cinematics are comically bad, but the graphics is good and the open world design (including the explorations, side quests, collectibles) is fantastic.

    Unfortunately, the developers somehow thought cheaping out on the voice acting and using a narrator for the entire game's storytelling was a good idea. News flash; it's not. In fact, even the writing for the narration wasn't good either. Turning it off in the settings just removes the auditory annoyance, but doesn't fix anything about the presentation of the story at all.

    I can't say I can fully recommend this game, as it has some quirks that mainstream players may not like (especially those that are used to the polish on AAA games). But in a larger sense, it is worth a try if you're buying it for less than half its ridiculous price tag.    … Expand

    Friendly advice: There is some fun to be had, but wait for a sale, current price is just too expensive for a game that's just meh.

    Visuals - 6/10
    The concept of animal character is interesting, but the fact that every armor clips through your character drive me nuts. Sceneries can be quite beautiful, but everything looking closely is quite ugly.

    Gameplay - 6/10
    At the start fighting is quite fun as you unlock more exp and upgrades, but in the long run, it becomes quite repetitive and boring.
    Everything else is just ok, nothing to really complain about, but also, nothing to write home about.

    Story - 5/10
    The story is disappointing, it is more a set of fetch quests than something truly meaningful. I absolutely love the message about environment preservation, but just like everything about this game, it tries so hard to sound profound and meaningful but it is actually delivered in the most shallow of ways.    … Expand

    If I didn't buy it on G2A , I would've gotten a refund. Played for maybe 2 hours, got annoyed with the narrator and quit playing.
