Minecraft Dungeons meat is in its satisfying combat and complex character-building opportunities, and in that, the game delivers by the truckload.

Minecraft Dungeons is a dungeon-crawling adventure that promises a lot of fun for gamers young and old alike. While its replay value may wane with time, a constantly growing progression system and its various difficulty settings offer a lot for those less affected by the repetition.

Minecraft Dungeons is a breezy dungeon crawler that reproduces Minecraft's playful attitude.

It’s funny, engaging and, at times, surprisingly challenging: Minecraft Dungeons only lacks a bit of depth in the end-game area, and we hope to see that added in the next months.

Minecraft Dungeons is a capable all-ages dungeon crawl that, while doesn’t use its license to anything like its full potential (see Dragon Quest Builders 2 for how to do it right), is still good fun once it gets moving. The variety of enemies keeps you on your toes, and the various skills and weapons make for plenty of experimentation in figuring out the best way to take them on. Each level has at least a couple of secrets to chase after, ranging from obvious to head-scratchingly obscure, and finding everything while collecting all the gear will keep players busy for hours whether fighting single- or multiplayer. Just be aware that if you’ve got any experience with the genre, the difficulty selections on the levels are there for a reason. The younger crowd deserves a good intro to the world of dungeon crawling and Minecraft Dungeons provides that nicely.

Cooperative fun for the whole family with typical Minecraft optics. Gets boring quickly, though.

Unfortunately, the lack of personality sets this cute dungeon crawler back.

I think the game creatorsAn entertaining dungeon crawler to play with friends, but lacks variety and is kind of boring in solitary voyages. I think the game creators were aware of this, hence the game length, but it does have a bit of replayability if you happen to like it, along with more challenging modes. It is a fun little addition to game pass for an evening or two, but I probably wouldn't recommend getting it for the full price. Expand

TLDR: Nice try, lacks content, bad progression and gearing system, a bit buggy and gets boring really fast 5/10
(Played other games in the genre before like Diablo II and III, path of exile, torchlight I and II and I already have 15 hours in the game)
A nice try from Mojang, and sadly thats it, nothing more than a nice try.
The game is all around polished, with a few minor bugs(buggy/chunky movement, mobs spawning into objects), the gameplay is smooth but gets boring after a couple of hours.
The game lacks key features to become a clean member of the genre.
The gameplay is boring and uninteractive, lack of diversity in mobs and enemy enchantments just supports this statement.
The game lacks "indirect progression", the players don't want to craft the weapon they need with enchantments they want obviously, but we need a different system other then this full random mess the game uses, only thing you can control in progression is farming in an area where the item can drop(not taking level difference in said items, different and/or unnecessary enchantments on them which give no help to your build in to count)
The progression is very weak, get item, get level, enchant it if the said item has any useful enchantments and thats it. The game lacks crafting, different kind of merchants and means of getting gear. And one huge problem: THE GAME LACKS PLAYER TO PLAYER TRADING.
The players should be able to modify gear in some regard, changing enchantments or stats on them.
The game has major balancing issues too, some builds are overall better in all terms(cough, soul build) making any other builds seem useless.
The game turns into a repetative farm fest, trying to get the item to drop in the right enchantments or farming emeralds (currency in the game) and buying FULLY RANDOM GEAR and thats it, thats the whole progression, in the later stages of game (after the default playthrough) the XP levels to enchant become less of an issue, as you'll get overleveled and undergeared really fast.
There is currently no endgame content in the game, only the repetative default "mission" maps. The game lacks end game content, like bossing, adventure hunting, fun quests, labyrinths, PVP and those are only just a few things that other games have in the genre.

The item-based abilities and enchanting are brilliantly done, unique, and create a surprising amount of depth. Replayability is high as even though you're hitting the same levels, they get bigger and have more secretes. Also, new items and enchants appear as you go as well so it's not just grind-for-higher-numbers.

Cons: It's buggy as all crap with control issues, lag issues, crashing issues, disconnects (+always online!), falling through the floor, and more. We cannot play a single level without 1 of the above issues.

THE UGLY: The game is highly lethal and punishes failure. When one team member dies, EXTRA monsters spawn to make the situation even worse, and you have 30 seconds until night falls and phantoms murder anyone left.

I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone thought that punishing dying with dragging your entire team down with you was a good design decision. This is friendship ruining stuff.

The conclusion: MC Dungeons could have been one of the greats but critical flaws bring it way way down.

It’s a random mess of **** flying at you. There is no fun factor at all. It is garbage. I played this on the Xbox. And for awhile it was good. 9/10 good! But levels like soggy swamp, desert temple, and a specially fiery forge. I hate this game now, it’s a non stop **** storm, the levels start easy and get alittle harder. Then BOOM fiery forge and desert temple cranks it up to 11. It throws EVERYTHING at you, like cmon, it’s to hard. Desert temple is random, fiery forge is complete ****. The beginning is ok but when you need to get all these things that explode I forgot what it was called, then you run around like a idiot, having all these enimes attack you at all angles. Then when you get to the bossfight, it’s gets nuts... this big ass thing is like the god of all the enimes, this is the final boss, there’s lava everywhere and the map is a mile long, when you respawn, then you have to guess where the location is, then you need to fit threw there and good luck, there’s lava everywhere and minions see you and go like. “Let’s ruin there day!” And then all of them charge at you. And if you run out of arrows, your screwed. Another thing is there’s no map! So if there’s multiple paths that all leads somewhere different. Then I need to do eeny, meeny, miney, moe. It’s dumb. I have nothing to say about final map, haven’t unlocked it yet, and probably never will... CAUSE I HAVE TO BEAT FIERY FORGE AND DESERT TEMPLE WHICH ARE BOTH IMPOSSIBLE. Ok I’m done, this game sucks and goodbye. Impossible levels Expand
