Persona 5 Strikers delivers the meaningful story, relateable characters, and complex mechanics fans expect from mainline games but switches the gameplay up to focus on action over time management.

Persona 5 Strikers is a successful crossover, bringing a true sequel to iconic JRPG. Among other things, it'll allow fans to learn more about the high school band led by the Trickster. With Strikers, Omega Force delivers: it's a demanding title, particularly enjoyable and complete enough to take you on a road-trip for countless hours.

Persona 5 Strikers is a great Musou game, and even though for veterans of the series it might feel intimidating but it’s worth it for the plot. The game runs so well on PC but it does beg the question: why isn't Persona 5 on PC yet? It’s time to bring it to other consoles other then the PS4 so more players will get to experience the full story.

The Phantom Thieves arrive on PC in a more streamlined form than the main Persona series, but an equally engaging one that's as stylish as it is action packed.

Early on in Persona 5's development, P-Studio had considered an action-RPG format for the original Persona 5. While the Phantom Thieves debut maintained Persona's traditional JRPG framework, Persona 5 Strikers showcases what could've been in an overall successful manner. There are kinks that could've been worked out, with battles lacking a significant degree of player feedback that unnecessarily inflating the game's difficulty. Strikers' story also takes a little too long to hit its stride, but it does reward players who stick around for the long haul. Acting as a sequel to the critically acclaimed JRPG, Persona 5 Strikers is a fantastic continuation for the Phantom Thieves.

It is hard to say this is a great Persona title. The combat is fun and punchy, the story cool and on point, and there are some attractive design sensibilities. Unfortunately, the overall experience doesn't feel as cohesive as it could. At its core there is a great Persona story and experience but the move to the new systems and Omega Force's take on the series highlights why it is that Persona needs its turn-based combat and carefully considered character narratives. This is an excellent title in its own right and probably Omega Force's best work yet. It's just lacking that special something that would make it a stellar Persona title. It might have worked better as an expansion to the original Persona 5 as the story is awesome.

The ingredients might sound tasty in isolation, but the recipe isn't quite right, leaving us with a dish best described as an attractive hotchpotch. [Issue#356, p.100]

I love and enjoy these game, no technical issues and it is a perfect sequel.
It is not the typical Hack and slash.

This game feels like a road trip with your best friends from school as a game.
And of course you're casually saving the world while you're at it :)
I'm deducting a point for the short lenght (100% complete run in < 50 hours
for a 60 bucks game) and the game crashing 3 times on my system (March 2021).

It kind of hurt me that they didn't develop this with P5R in mind, but that's a minor issue. The combat system is not the best, but it is interesting and it's kind of surprising how they merged the Persona style with a Musou game. I cannot rate it anything higher than an 8 because I can't say that there's something in the game that has really stood out to me while playing it. Character development? Only 2-3 characters really showed some development, the OG squad didn't really change anything. Combat system? An 8 at best, it is standard. Story? Average, and it really requires you to have played the OG Persona 5, while being sold as another game. That means, another 60$ to Atlus. Maybe I could point out that the art style is as good as P5.

Don't get me wrong, I think the game works for what it is, but giving it a 9 would be an insult for other games rated that high, and it would be rated lower if it weren't a Persona game.

PERSONA 5 STRIKERS after a year or so of waiting finally we got our hands on a persona that is not exclusive for ps4 and i can tell you iPERSONA 5 STRIKERS after a year or so of waiting finally we got our hands on a persona that is not exclusive for ps4 and i can tell you i immediately bought it for the pc master race :D and i can say that the game is a blast to play in term of music and new spin on the gameplay but there are some problems

    cons:

    - the writing is very poor and everything is super predictable

    - the gameplay although fun lacks at some key moments

    - i don't know if that was a problem for everyone but the sp management in this game is terrible there are barely any sp potions and you run out of sp so quick and there is no rest options like in the vanilla persona 5 so you have to get to a checkpoint then exit the dungeon come back and only then you will have a full hp bar and sp bar which is a total bummer for me :/

-the final boss was really meh

    - the real world was really lacking and there was barely any options of going around and talking with random people yes i know that its a spinoff but still everyone around feels like a dead puppet

    - some performance issues such as fps drops and one hard crash at the wonderland dungeon

    - the side quests were really forced boring and not that fun so after the third dungeon i just stopped doing them because it just felt like a chore at that point

-the game is a bit short for persona standards took me 30 hours to finish it

    - there are moments where the game intentionally prolongs the gameplay with tedious fetch quest /main objective and it just felt as if they doing it because they ran out of ideas but needed to put more hours in the game

    pros:

    - the music holy h@ll the music i was having so much fun listening to it and was just such a delight and i think one of the best things in the game is the music

    - animations look a lot better everything just looks and goes super smooth

    - the new characters are super awesome and i really enjoyed the new addition to the cast

    - the dungeon design is just super beautiful and finally they have some depth to them

in conclusion yea i know there are more cons than pros but still the game was super enjoyable and it is a spinoff game for all the non playstation exclusive gamers so of course it wont be as good as a normal persona game but for what it is PERSONA 5 STRIKERS is a cool game to play for over the top dynasty warriors gameplay but it does lack in the other departments so my final score to PERSONA 5 STRIKERS is a 7.5 out of 10
