A deep, challenging game, clearly inspired by From Software's Dark Souls series, Lords of the Fallen manages to make quite an impression. It's a shame both story and graphics aren't up to par with the amazing gameplay.

Lords of the Fallen has a lot going for it. The story is bland and the camera will get you killed if you’re not careful, but fans of this action RPG genre will have a really great time playing it.

Lords of the Fallen has a lot to offer for fans of the genre as well as newcomers. While a few choices break up the ambiance, the learning curve is much more welcoming to newcomers of the genre without losing a lot of the challenge.

A passable, if not perfect adventure, but certainly worth a look.

Lords of the Fallen provides players with a solid experience and fun combat system, but it never provides enough reason to care about anything else. It's a shame as the game does have a lot of potential. With a little more polish and tweaks done to the story and balance, Lords of the Fallen could be a great title. Right now though, it isn't.

There's still much enjoyment to be found in the interim grinding between boss fights, but Lords Of The Fallen's greatest sin is that all feels rather soulless. [Christmas 2014, p.116]

Any game as demanding as Lords of the Fallen needs to be equally precise in execution, and yet it often stumbles on the simplest things.

This game is so great in so many aspects, that it really deserves better scores and reviews. Starting with very nice, perfect art style and great atmosphere. The UI looks and works very well. The artists that were tasked with this job really outdid themselves, best looking UI and overall artwork i've seen in a long time.
The gameplay feels much more polished than Dark Souls. The animations and the combat itself plays, feels, and looks so much better. In Dark Souls, the character is moving unnaturally, it is floating weirdly. Here you can really see the impact of your moves, hits, the armor and equipment you are wearing etc.
Difficulty is hard to compare, i like both titles for that, but people keep saying, that this is arcade version of DS, but i have played many hours in DS games and this was very often bigger challenge than DS.
Equipment system is much more meaningful and it is very enjoyable part of the game.
Overall i think that Lords of the Fallen feels and plays better, and it is more polished and better looking than DS. One of the biggest surprises of 2014 for me.

Game is obviously inspired of the Dark souls series (of which i am a big fan of) and borrows heavily from it. Now, the pros, the game is HARD, that kind of in a good way, like a good challenge worth to try and beat. Not Dark soul like challenge but more challenging than most of games today. Next up, I like its heavier style of dark souls gameplay, Harkyn moves like a giant when in heavy or medium weight and the hits of steels and hammers when you hit your enemies are satisfying and its sound is very great and painful. Lastly, the only thing that this game had that dark souls never had is its experience system, the more you kill, the bigger your XP mutiplier will become and resting in a chekpoint would reset that multiplier. it gives me the feeling that i want to kill more without using my stored XP for more experiences and also another challenge that is worth to take on.

As to the cons, Game is so short. yep, you could finish it in a day or in a few hours. Next up, the characters NPCs are not memorable, hell you could even forget them seconds after you talk to them, even the protagonist, whom the developers wanted to be like a kratos-like figure is so boring and unremarkable. They should improve on that part. Lastly, the thing that dark souls have that this game doesnt: The Bosses, all the boss of this games are easy to beat. SO EASY, i only died in one boss. AND THATS THE DLC BOSS WHICH IS A CHEAP ASS MF (F*ck you KEEPER)...thats that. Thanks

Not this piece of crap though. I didn't count them, but there are about ten bosses throughout the game, which means just as you are starting to settle into the block/evade/hit/block boredom, along comes another boss and usually at a grossly overpowered level.
After my fourth such fight, I turned the game off and deleted it. Graphics are nice, but quite a few bugs and the sheer repetition just prevents it from ever being fun. Games are supposed to be fun after all.
