Remnant 2’s action, loot, and bosses are cranked up to 11. It’s a marked improvement over the first game, with the fat trimmed and all the good parts ready for devouring right from the start. There’s a lot to love here, with more surprises and reasons to play even after multiple playthroughs. Though I do have a few gripes, they fade into the background as there’s just so much to enjoy here in the minute-to-minute gameplay.
Absolutely incredible game that has jumped to my GOTY spot. Unlike other games that use Soulslike elements cheaply, this one blends them effortlesly with its own elements. It feels like a cross between Returnal and a Souls title with some of the best parts of Destiny thrown in, but not in a way that's redundant or poorly imitating but because they nailed some of their best qualities simply via great design.
Engaging combat, satisfying and rewarding exploration (this cannot be stated enough, the exploration here is sublime!), tonnes of great loot, cleverly made and intuitive puzzles, secrets, great bosses (some very creative). Looks great maxed out on PC. music is often subdued but usually atmospheric and often quite beautiful.
Only real downside is the story, it's not super engaging. The lore and world building is very cool, though.
Also, this shares a lot of dna with live service shooter games, but none of the ****. No MTX, no battle pass, no seasonal content with FOMO attached, and can be played entirely offline. Instead of milking for money in lots of little ways, they've filled the game to the brim with stuff to find via gameplay and... if anything, that should be applauded.
The classes, builds, weapons, etc... are all really well done, too. The dual class (Archetypes) along with the rings/relics/mods allow you to really fine tune a build and provide a lot of variety in ways to approach.
Lastley, the game is very fun in both solo and co-op play. I've played mostly solo but every now and then I jump into co-op for a couple of hours just because it's super fun.
A truly fantastic game with tonnes of content and a great overall design philosphy.
10/10.
Gunfire Games knew exactly what they were doing when working on the sequel to their sleeper hit from 2019. Remnant 2 improves upon its predecessor in almost every way, with overhauled systems, beautiful environments, fancy weapons, new enemies, deadly bosses, more build variety, and last but not least, more cooperative action. This is a no brainer must play for anyone who enjoyed the first game or for those looking for some challenging gunplay.
I think of Remnant II as more Remnant for better or worse. It's still a very compelling series with tight and engaging gameplay, but there's no denying that it has its kinks too. It's flashier, prettier, has tons of depth, and if you loved the first game, you will have a blast with this follow-up as well.
Remnant II takes the shooting souls-like core of the original game, and builds upon it on almost all fronts. From building your perfect build by mixing archetypes, to exploring the diverse selection of beautifully crafted worlds, Remnant II gives you plenty of secrets to discover. The gunplay also feels really solid, although the overall experience does get hurt by a fluctuating difficulty and a scarcity of weapons for a FPS souls like, especially in the early game.
If you're searching for a game to play with friends, Remnant 2 can provide an entertaining experience, but you should consider other options if you want a game to play alone. Although the graphics and storyline may not be awe-inspiring, the dynamic generation feature turns Remnant 2 into a game you and your friends can enjoy for an extended period, resulting in one of the most replayable games of the year. Still, I was disappointed with the long-awaited sequel due to frustrating character mechanics, outdated visuals, and lack of a compelling story to connect with.
It's a polished, impressive game but not for me. There is a boss called Labyrinth Sentinel that provokes the standard "git gud" conversation, legitimately so in some ways, but it's the purest definition of "unfun" I have ever experienced in a game. Uninstalled, not looking back. Give me any Souls-like of any difficulty over this.
Неплохая игра для кооператива. Сюжет достаточно короткий, но в игре существует "рерол" мира, что даёт игре хорошую реиграбельность. Очень оригинальные и интересные секретки. Рекомендую ознакомиться.
Mostly empty, soul-less clone of first game. I did research all levels and found 0 armor, Only one option that I would have to farm, probably long (blood moon event). Performance is terrible for a RX 6900XT and r5 x5600, graphics are terrible. Bosses are sometimes good and creative. That's all
