    I found myself utterly captivated by this game, which takes so many creative risks in the name of its vision. The limited “story” in favour of a deeper narrative working on a more subtle level, downbeat and muted visuals, and graceful rather than visceral combat are all things that are lauded in video games, however appropriate to the experience that the developer is crafting. But this team stuck with the vision, and we should be thankful for that. If you do enjoy the likes of theatre, opera, and ballet, then Valkyrie Elysium belongs to the incredibly small group of titles that share a similarity to those art forms, and that’s more than a nice to have, it’s the kind of art we need to see more developers experimenting with.

    It’s a solid experience that feels like an extension of its ancestor, and both newcomers and old fans should check it out. However, I also fear there’s not quite enough to latch on to, and it may be lost in the shuffle of all the other games out this fall. Much like another Square Enix action-RPG this year, I do wish it had pushed itself just a little further.

    Valkyrie Elysium is rather fun. Divorced from its heritage, it's a solid, if unexceptional, action-RPG. The combat system could use more polish, but what it does, it does quite well, and I enjoyed the combat until the end of the game. I'd love the team to have a chance to revisit the gameplay with some more confidence under its belt, as it's easy to see how it could go from good to great. This isn't the Valkyrie Profile 3 I was hoping for, but Elysium should satisfy someone looking for a solid action-RPG.

    A fast-paced combat system and operatic soundtrack from Motoi Sakuraba aren't enough to save Valkyrie Elysium from a fate worse than Ragnarok: mediocrity.

    Valkyrie Elysium é um action RPG baseado na franquia Valkyrie Profile, mas não faz parte da série principal, é um spin off.
    Pontos positivos: O jogo tem um gráfico cell shading bacana no PS5, uma boa jogabilidade, uma bela trilha sonora e só.
    Pontos negativos: O jogo é curto, terminei a missão principal e as sidequests em 25 horas, a história é rasa, o sistema de evolução da Valquíria e dos Einherjar é simples e os inimigos são repetitivos demais. E pra quem é fã de Valkyrie Profile Lenneth e Valkyrie Profile Silmeria, vai sentir muita falta do sistema de batalhas clássico da série.    … Expand

Infelizmente não era o retorno que a série Valkyrie precisava.
    Existe alguns downgrades muito específicos, o ataque especial vulgo "Nibelung Valesti"é decepcionante em sua primeira versão, enquanto Valkyrie Profile Silmeria apresenta o ataque mais impressionante e empolgante que a versão mais recente.
    Sinto muita falta do modo de game anterior, exploração 2D e Combate por turnos, semi 3D, variedades de einhenjar e profundidades em suas historias, coisa que se perdeu um pouco no Silmeria, mas é compensando por outros pontos que aqui não.
    Aprecio muito a adição de múltiplos finais, ajuda manter a duração de vida do game.

    Olhando como uma série a parte, é um jogo agrádavel com 6,5/10, agora se você olhar como um jogo da série Valkyrie a nota cai bastante, 3/10.
    Enfim, torço para que venda o suficiente para reviver os anteriores atraves de remasters/remakes e que seja colocado de volta na mão da tri-ace, se quiserem manter a saga "Elysium" como um spin-off, pode ser uma boa adiação, mas como substituto do "Profile" ele nunca será!    … Expand

When I pay $60, I expect a game with top notch AAA quality. The combat is boring and repetitive. The story is a joke. The physics are beyond horrible. The animations are atrocious. The AI is incredibly stupid. Everything about this game is literal trash, even the title of this game is unoriginal trash.

    There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there is literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. I don't recommend this poor excuse of a $60 game at all.    … Expand
