Nobody Saves the World is a humorous romp through a 2D world where the hero is little more than a pale, pantsless shell that players can magically transform into a colorful cast of characters. RPG elements let players customize the experience even further as they rack up a body count of baddies.

After finishing Nobody Saves the World, I went right back to it. There were still dungeons to explore, powers to unlock, secrets to uncover, and a New Game Plus mode to conquer. When a game is this much frictionless fun, it's hard to resist.

As a slice of classic top-down action-RPG goodness, Nobody Saves the World is the first surprise gem of the year. The fact that it’s available on Xbox Game Pass on PC and Xbox makes it something of a must-play if it's the style of game you dig. Then again there’s enough uniqueness and charm with the class-based Form system to warrant a go for even the most casual of RPG players. Fun, funny, and just all-around great.

Making your way around Nobody Saves the World‘s map is nothing but a pure joy. This gorgeous, whimsical adventure feels like a more playful A Link to the Past at times – if A Link to the Past had you changing into a slug or a zombie, that is. If you’re a fan of accessible action RPGs and enjoy laying waste to tonnes of enemies, you can’t go wrong here. Once again, Drinkbox Studios has taken an oversaturated genre and turned it into something unique and delightful.

Nobody saves the world is a vast array of fun ideas made game, proving once again the talent of the people at DrinkBox Studios. It's easy to grasp and to understand, but a little on the repetitive and easy side, too. A no-brainer if you have Game Pass.

Despite the huge variety of moves and characters, this disappointing follow-up to Guacamelee is let down by mindless combat and bland dungeon design.

The artI took a chance on downloading this from GamePass and thought "why not give it a try". Well I'm glad I did, I really loved this game. The art style, progression system, map layout, dungeon challenges and most importantly - the combat. Everything felt fluid and responsive in a quick paced style. This game will not be for everyone. If you are looking for a deep story, this isn't the greatest choice for you. But if you're looking for a very fun and addictive dungeon crawler with a bunch of character options, this game is for you. I put 40+ hours maxing everything, getting all achievements and beating it all over again playing in hard mode (which really changed up the combat again). Expand

Nearly every action in the game feeds into some sort of upgrade or upgrade path, which make it simultaneously a great pickup and play title, or one you find yourself sinking multiple hours into. I’m predominantly a PS gamer, but played this on Game Pass using an iPad and tethered controller and absolutely adored every moment. There was always something fun and interesting to do, challenging locations that tested your combat efficiency and the combinations that when combined would be ultra satisfying. This game made me think about Octopath Traveler in some respects when you unlocked the law hybrid classes and were able to like abilities to do perform you didn’t initially think possible…from healing builds, to DPS/familiar builds to brute force, the game lets you play how you wish you, while being fun and funny to play. I’m aghast that any critics rate this anything g less than a 8 or 9 given it’s quality in combat (balancing and making over a dozen characters feel different), music, art style, writing and of course gameplay. I will definitely being jumping back in if this says release on other platforms. Expand

This is an absolute gem of a game

Mix of old school Zelda with Diablo, you can take various forms in order to complete various dungeons and open world areas, you level up these forms by completing form base quests, when you get to higher ranks you can unlock other forms, the forms have very different play styles but you can mix and match abilities

So for one dungeon I used the Ranger (archer) with the Boo ability from the Ghost to frighten enemies a light based slow bomb and a dark based life leach bite

In other dungeon I used the slug with a stomp ability and slime trail to slow enemies , you can create builds to your hearts content and change forms on the fly at any time

    I seriously recommend this game
