This appears to be the start of a promising new chapter.

If 40 oz. to Fresno isn't the most ambitious entry in Joyce Manor's discography, it is at least one of their most enjoyable.

This is the Joyce Manor album for Joyce Manor fans—a loving, uncynical refinement of the band’s best.

While ’40 oz. to Fresno’ is certainly a little less orthodox than we’ve come to expect, it doesn’t matter all that much: their rough-around-the-edges punk still strikes the right chords.
