Feb 5, 2015Each of the album’s 10 songs are fully formed and smartly rendered, but “Young Blood” stands out as the most jaw-dropping.
-
Feb 5, 2015A freshly squeezed record with the pulp left in it.
-
Feb 9, 2015The Districts end up finding an in-between, where emotional songwriting becomes the selling point, without being overdone.
-
Feb 5, 2015The feeling that, yes, there’s something attractive here. But, on record at least, the spark of individuality is missing.

Feb 6, 2015They’re a "the + plural noun" band. For those who felt the "New Rock Revolution" was exactly what its name promised rather than a revival of old aesthetics, the Districts' A Flourish and a Spoil signifies a restoration of order. For everyone else who simply likes rock bands, it's actually kinda quaint.
