True Widow have laid down an album so strong that I can't see anything usurping it as album of the year for me (or anyone else who gives it a few listens). And at the end of April, that's a mighty bold claim. But the glove is on the floor now, and everyone else will simply have to step up or cower away and hide.
  2. As High As The Highest Heavens And From The Center To The Circumference Of The Earth doesn't just sound good, it grabs hold of every intricate audible sense in your nervous system for the entire journey of the album.
  3. May 5, 2011
Influences are obvious but the balance between light and dark is perfect here.
  4. Apr 5, 2011
Those who stick around will be treated to a sort of musical security blanket, jam-packed with hooks and an overall sound that should appease to fans of both the lightly melodic and relentlessly heavy.
  5. May 6, 2011
It's a real treat, so be sure to commit that title to memory should you be passing an emporium of musical delights anytime soon.

It's an album that's easy to overlook, but careful listeners will be rewarded with a world of sound. [Apr 2011, p.122]

Nothing on this album hooks quite like True Widow's darkly romantic highlights (check out "Duelist" or "Bleeder" if you want to hear True Widow's gothic revision of the '90s alt-rock template); instead, all but a few of the tracks here sound like variations on that album's "Sunday Driver."
