While Alexander, is not exactly the most varied albums, it is pleasantly--and impressively--cohesive, balancing just the right amount of sun-drenched melodies and unhinged heartache. [May 2011, p.83]

"Awake My Body" crash-lands somewhere between "Yellow Submarine" and Harry Nilsson's kid-friendly "The Point!" and it's as clumsy as that analogy implies. When the songs stay on track, though, they are often otherworldly.

Sure, Alexander is an unsteady and uncertain release, but it's also a trial run by someone who has already made it.

If it's vaguely hippie-ish and vaguely Californian, count on Ebert to work it into his solo debut: acid-folk reveries, Beck-ish busker rap, lyrics about Vietnam, sensitive maleness, Dylanisms, yodeling, calling women "mama," reggae, bongos.

It's amazing the feeling of freedom and good things you feel when listening to this album , the melodies and the totally awesome letters,It's amazing the feeling of freedom and good things you feel when listening to this album , the melodies and the totally awesome letters, makes this album something you should pay attention and listen with enough affection. Today I see Alexander as Jesus Christ , he was able to inspire me in a way I feel that this album is like a religion and can travel to its darker side and its lighter side ... It can easily take you to a blissful awareness
