  • Summary: The first new album in four years from the former Diff'rent Strokes star. (OK, so we've been watching too much Nick at Nite lately.)

  1. All for You is every bit as impressive a collection as Control, her first collaboration with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis fifteen years ago.
  2. The album's meticulous attention to detail never overshadows Jackson's frisky good mood.
  3. A packed 73-minute disc with breathy vocals, smooth R&B jams and seductive sentiments.
  4. 70
In spite of the sudden changes of mood and style, the album coheres nicely around Jackson's strong personality.
  5. But if Jackson tries too hard to meet a standard of sexual frankness that's heightened in the four years since her last outing, she more than delivers her quota of hits.
  6. This is a much more satisfying album than 'The Velvet Rope', even if most of the songs are overlong and a few juggle satin sheet-cliches with self-help ones to numbing effect.
  7. All for You is, for the most part, signature Janet.

Love this! It's sexy, playful, and a beautifully crafted gem. My favorites are Doesn't Really Matter, Truth and the title track. I believe this is her last record where she really captured a lot of creativity; Damita Jo is okay, but I honestly am not a fan of 20 Y.O. or Discipline. Janet is my favorite artist of all time. This is her biggest selling record of the 2000s and has one of her highest charting singles ever, the title track. I love Janet and I hope she can return to the level of popularity she had when this was released. Expand
