Aug 9, 2018Gulp show that they aren't just masters of cheerful avant pop; they can do other things at a high skill level, too. It makes for a well-balanced listening experience that fans of Broadcast or any of the other bands mentioned above would certainly find right up their alley.

Aug 9, 2018As a whole, Gulp’s new long player is a very pleasant experience from start to finish, and reminds you that Gruff Rhys is not the only member of SFA to have played a major part in delivering so many classics over the last near-three decades.
-
UncutAug 9, 2018More fully realised than 2014's Season Sun, this second album adheres its predecessor's summery disposition while adding new elements. [Sep 2018, p.30]
-
Aug 16, 2018Some patience and repeated plays may be needed to digest all of the peculiarities offered here as the few hooks are not readily apparent. But once assimilated, what is apparent is that Gulp not only experiment with tone and texture but also with melody as they tease out enough animated rock elements and shifting beats to keep your ears contented, but none that actually make a lasting impression.

MojoAug 9, 2018Minimal beat-logic and a new-age-ish ability to work below pop's usual emotional horizons sets them apart. [Sep 2018, p.96]
