The songs, both original and covers, are amazing, especially when her unique and lovely voice begins to toy with them. Terrific and surprising.

I really love her vocal style, clear and fresh. Nice to hear Jackson Browne in background on the one track. Will look for more of hers in the future.

I'm mighty impressed by this debut from Inara George. Her voice is clear, the lyrics smart and the musicianship excellent.

Gorgeous songs and a truly distinct sounding record. I find the critics' comparisons to be lazy since the songwriting and classic arrangements are far beyond the daily grind of contemporary singer/songwriter melodrama.

  1. The strengths of "All Rise" are understatement and simplicity; while George may not shock you, it's because she never meant to.

A sun-kissed solo debut wrapped in a cocooon of inviting acoustic guitars and shimmering synths. [28 Jan 2005, p.84]
  3. George has an indistinct voice somewhere between Suzanne Vega and Cat Power. Her lyrics are not mind-blowing, but not at all banal.
