AndreFeb 14, 2005Gorgeous songs and a truly distinct sounding record. I find the critics' comparisons to be lazy since the songwriting and classic arrangements are far beyond the daily grind of contemporary singer/songwriter melodrama.

George has an indistinct voice somewhere between Suzanne Vega and Cat Power. Her lyrics are not mind-blowing, but not at all banal.
