    OK. It may not be the best album they've released, but why such low ratings? If anything the album deserves some respect for their tribute to Dimebag Darrell (that's his solo on "Side of Bullet", by the way). It may not be as charged as some of their earlier albums, but that's a product of their shift directly into the mainstream. Bottom line: give the album a listen-it may OK.     Nickelback has taught me a huge amount music & fashion. I take a lot of inspiration from somebody who can have that kind of effect onf the music I play and the clothes I wear. For me, Nickelback is my hero... a true genius

    These guys just care a little about the music and a whole lot about one other thing...$$$ and you can really hear it on the CD and in interviews. They measure sucess almost totally by album sales.     how refreshing to hear these boys rocking on this new album, ATRR. something for everyone on this album. i'm tired of these whiney bands with their wimpy lead singers with the quivering voices. Nickelback is great and they know it. keep rocking Nickelback, record the albums and we will buy and listen!!!!!

    Someone please destroy mainstream radio. I truly feel sorry for anyone who enjoys this and I hope they have a friend with better tastes in music. If you listen to nickelback, i assume you have already given up on all of the great bands out there. Good music doesn't just fall out of the sky into your lap, you have to go looking for it.

    This album, band, sound and production needs to be left behind very fast because I am afraid of losing good music forever. How can Nickelback be called alternative anything?     I may never really know how awful this album or its singles are since I race to change the channel or radio station everytime I hear the words "look at this photograph...". Not as horrible as Sean Paul, so for the benefit of the doubt, I award a 4.

    This album is, well.... awful. The main reason I listened to it - honestly - was so that I could make fun of it, and actually be informed when I say that I it's awful. There is nothing in this album that is original, interesting, or particularly good. It is all formulated to get maximum radio play, and apparently, they are succeeding in that area.     "they sold milions of records" is the worst defence for a band's merit ever. Britney Spears and Vanilla Ice were top sellers too, you know. I give it at least a 1 because they make music that is truly, truly "challenging" to listen to. That takes some effort to do.

    Definitely not their best album but listenable at best. They really don't help themselves with "Rockstar" when it comes to repelling haters. If you're going to stop people from mocking you, don't do a song that's intended to mock yourself so you can show a less serious side to your band. The meaningful lyrics give the listener some interest in the album but "Follow You Home" and "Side of aDefinitely not their best album but listenable at best. It's bands like The Arcade Fire who like use a lot of instruments that sound "different", and also John Vanderslice, he records all of his own music which is just silly, he works too hard.     The only reason it doesnt get a zero is because its music. really BAD music. why so these guys get so much airplay? all the songs sound the same, boring post grunge rock. its a dying genre. if you want a real band try rise against.

Radiohead is nothing compared to these cool dudes in Nickelback and their cool guitars, drums, bass and vocal line-up. If you purchased this baby at Wal-Mart you also got a bonus track! Its the band covering Queen's "We Will Rock You," obviously appealing to the southern eardrum and obviously being a terrible cover. The fact that radio hit "Photograph," a @#$$load of words being screamed about Chad boy's adolescence in photobook form peaked #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 just tells you how 98 other songs could ignored by the US crowd. This band can not compare to any other Canadian band. These guys make Canada look like a joke and the fact that the Arcade Fire is not as big there or in the US tells you how terrible the education system must be. Damn you Bush look what you've done! But lets not just blame these two countries, lets blame the whole world! Worldwide over 7,000,000 copies have been sold, in both the USA and Canda they have reached 5x platnium. Like this band, which is like opening the Lost Ark and having your head melt and explode, with this god awful music being the last thing you experience. It actually hurts to listen to Nickleback.     Nickelback has ruined rock as we know it. There lyrics have know meaning, just the same lovey dovey, sad and lonely song over and over again. This album beats you to death with sex and love songs like the rest of nickelback's albums. There is no meaning at all.

    Nickelback is an awesome band and I've been around long enough to know the difference. I grew up in the Beastles/Led Zepplin/Aerosmith era and I know great music when I hear it. Chad has one of the best voices ever in Rock. I like to classify them as groovy rock instead of post-grunge. There are millions of us Nickelback fans and all of you so called music critics are jealous hypocrites.

    Quite good. I don't see any particular problems except some songs are almost the same as others. Anyway, i'd personally liked "Savin' Me" and "Rockstar" - they're quite successful. However, i've got bored after listening the whole CD.

Why is this band labled "alternative"? An alternative to what? It sounds like every other "corporate rock" crap that is played on the radio. The lead singer sings like he's taking a dump and all the songs I give this a number 2 becasue their music sounds like "number 2".     Generic arena-rock ("Animals," "Follow You Home") with the occasional decent but unexceptional ballad ("If Everyone Cared"). Pick up a couple Pearl Jam or Nirvana records instead.

    Bah. In response to some people here. Just because a band has sold a lot, doesn't mean they're good does it?? Avril Lavigne has sold more of her second album than this, but would you say she was better? I doubt it. The whole thing is just a hard rock cliche, the same formula re-used over and over again , and i guarantee you their next album will be the same. I have given it 4 Bah.     Only half decent song is "Animals. Too bad there aren't only 10 songs on this album, because if there were, it could get a dismal 1/10. But since there are 11, it still gets a 0.     This is a great album. The songs Nickelback write are amazingly catchy, powerful and well arranged/produced. And try to find a modern rock band that sounds better than Nickelback does live. The songs are just as tight and heavy as they are on the albums. The vocals are pretty much perfect. They sound just like on the album, only more powerful and energetic.     This album was about as enjoyable as having a rectal examination, Chads singing was the equivalent to a rectal examination, the guitar riffs and drum beats sounded like a guy having a rectal examination

    This album is one of the best to come out in 2005 and just because Chad can right some great songs like Savin' me and Rockstar all you other supposed rock lovers are jelous. His songs have a better meanings than any other atrist I know and anything he writes he means and it shows his talents by the fact he can pen down his life in songs and sing them with great effects

    I don't know why Nickelback are criticized so much. They are one of the best bands of the decade! This album is their best creation yet! They just get better and better with each release. We need music like this to defeat the bland cop-killing non-singing generation of hip-hop and rap. Throw away the guns, pick up this album, and be amazed.

Leader of Men, Old Enough, Worthy to Say....nothing wrong with them. Then I guess Chad took a dump one day and accidentally left his talent in an outhouse in Alberta somewhere. Nickleback took a nosedive in musical quality so fast that I'm surprised they don't have collective whiplash. They became a lame, sappy ballad band over the course of like 5 years. Usually it takes decades for a bands balls to wither away. Also, at least 75% of the people making these positive reviews are just trying to be funny. Guys...we get it. Hahaha!     I remember listening to this album back in 2001. And again when they rereleased in 2003. Etc. Nickelback is good at making catchy song, that's it. I didn't put a plural on song because they've recycled it over and over again. Also, Josh C, you are a great troll.

    I find it interesting that whenever a band puts together meaningful lyrics and meaningful topics it gets skewered by critics. I suppose critics are paid to find something new and different, and if the band has a style that their fans like and stick to it, critics move on. These guys are not doing anything new, and they don't apologize for it.     This album is just awful, and yes, i would and have said that to a Nickelback fan's face. They need to stop doing acoustic songs, and maybe try songs that are a little less recycled.

    I am proud to say Nickelback make good, solid and enjoyable rock music that grows on you. I don't care what the low-scoring lamers say, you cannot recognize music when you hear it. Probably like RAVE and DANCE music don't you? What a sad case.
