  1. There’s an obvious self-assurance on AWOBMOLG that’s been increasingly evident on his recent EP releases; a sense of things coming together and evolving into a sound that seems unhurried, unprompted and, best of all, natural.
  2. Carr has always wanted to create his very own sound, and for the first time we are starting to hear it here.
  3. Q Magazine

Were he only able to drop the naff drum machines, this would be a classier piece of classicism all round. [Sep 2004, p.117]
  4. It's certainly a fact that he currently errs on the side of tweeness.
  5. Uncut
    40
Carr's ambitions outrun his abilities. [Sep 2004, p.98]
  6. Mojo

The results are strangely disorientating and at times Carr's brittle, acoustic sketches are smothered by skull-jarring percussion. [Sep 2004, p.92]
  7. New Musical Express (NME)
    40
With only three 'songs' to speak of here, 'All Watched Over...' smacks of another great British songwriter having their melodic nous chewed away by electro-moths. [7 Aug 2004, p.49]
