Another Sound Is Dying, despite the title connotation, is indeed giving birth to a stirring new noise. [Apr 2008, p.156]
  2. Because of the improvisational feel of the album and speed of recording, the cycle and underlying patterns syncopate and never get boring.
  3. Dub Trio are on to something, but they've yet to fully grasp it.
  4. It's the sort of release that metal fans will probably like because it offers plenty of chunk-tastic riffs (that aren't too far off from newer, more polished work from Helmet), but dub fans will probably steer clear from because of it's focus on said heavy-fisted bombast.

There are traces of reverb and chicken-scratch guitar, but the band's drill-press instro-rock lacks thegenre's spacial dislocation and sense of thematic possibility. [Feb 2008, p.92]

This album is louder & equally as great as their previous more mellowed out dub sound.
