Brash, wearyingly loud and very funky, As If certainly isn’t lacking in emphasis, but will likely disappoint if you’re searching for a little more.

It’s a shame the editing isn’t as tight all the way through, but these grooves sure are deep.

They're now coming across as though they're seriously indecisive, unable to take their upbeat dance-punk to its extremes. Tellingly, As If takes off when the group remove their vocals from centrestage. [Nov 2015, p.69]

As If is just another glimmer of something that may never be.

The middle section of the album is stellar, and for a few fleeting moments, it all seems to work. Unfortunately, the rest of As If is much less engaging.

Every song had my attention, whether it was the funky All U Writers & Ooo or the experimental All the Way & I Feel So Free (Citation Needed). Each and every track on the album was enjoyed here in some way. I definitely recommend it - one of the best albums I heard all year. Full Review »
