This is a competent, professional and occasionally brilliant effort--the brooding MO Part II in particular--but is difficult to detect the same unmistakeable heart and character that Walters displays on screen.
-
The former Sylvia Young alumnis’ latest solo offering is a mixed bag of soulfully gritty D’Angelo-influenced vocals and Busta Rhymes-esque rants.
-
While the album is far from musically innovative, to cite it as an entirely unrewarding and joyless listen would be hyper-critical and plain wrong.
