Songs giving hype vibes and moody vibes with "Astrothunder", "Yosemite" and "Wake Up", this album has a song for everyone.

Astroworld expands further upon the feature list of his other albums with features from Frank Ocean, Drake, Swae Lee, Juice WRLD, Sheck Wes, The Weeknd, 21 Savage, Gunna, NAV, Quavo, Takeoff, and new label mate Don Toliver, the feature list is a all-star list from everyone. Producers also did a wonderful good with multiple producers such as Sonny Digital, Tay Keith, Thundercat, Pharrell Williams, Wondagurl, Cubeatz, and Murda Beatz, all tracks are vivid and given their own theme.

Astroworld is wonderful, amazing and feels like a trip to a theme park for one last time.

Trap isn't really my thing, I mostly listen to lyrical rap, but this album surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. Even the tracks I though were pretty "eh" all had some redeeming qualities. Don't get why I enjoyed this so much, but not Rodeo, I'll have to give it a relisten.

This album has exectly what people wanted to listen to in 2018, a very catchy album for its time, but now, 3 years later, it doesn’t have that much replay value, for me at least. The truth is that the album had something everyone. For lyrical listeners, tracks like Coffee Bean and Yosemite delivered in a deeper way while tracks like Stargazing, NC-17 and Sicko Mode were for those who wanted something to bump in their car. Now if you listened closely, you would have found that the instrumentals throughout the album were very interesting and extremely audibly pleasing. Another highlight is the new chosen single "STOP TRYING TO BE GOD" which delivers a strong message.

Not to mention Travis really stepped up his flows and even spits some decent lyrics which is always a plus (although not a big deal) because I listen to Travis for moods and vibes. Tons of Houston references all over the place that I pick up which makes it even more appealing for me. I didn't expect this album to have such great production. Yes, the lyrics aren't lyrics of the year but the songs are all great. There isn't any weak song on this project. Stop Trying To Be God, is probably one of the best track I've heard in years. The instrumental and the vocals from James Blake and Kid Cudi makes that track the best of the year.

This is the only album from Travis that actually feels like an album. His other projects felt more like mixtapes. This album feels completed. The only thing I don't like about this album is having an old song like Butterfly on the album. We all heard that song and I didn't think it was necessary. It would've been much better to have a newer song like Watch (feat Kanye and Uzi) on the album instead.

Butterfly is a good song but the radio played it too much. That might be the only skippable track.

9.5/10 - Great production, great features, and better songwriting from Travis. Should've replaced Butterfly with Watch.

The lyricism is where Travis has always lacked and there are times on this album where his lyricism is boring and repetitive especially with his signature auto tune. He gets a 7.5 in this department because his songwriting skills have shown huge growth from his previous projects. Just look at a song like "Wonderful" from BITTSM and compare it to "Wake Up." Both feature nice production and guest vocals from the Weeknd but can anyone actually tell me what "Wonderful" is about? Travis has been the type of artist to trade lyricism in for an atmospheric feeling for the listener but his growth in songwriting served him well here and I expect him to grow even more as he ages. Overall, this album is an 87 in my opinion as it stands out far from disappointing albums such as Ye and Scorpion. The production in AstroWorld is stellar, Travis Scott has already shown great beat selection before, but this time he goes all out, with psychedelic beats that can only make the songs better.

The features were solid all through out, Frank Ocean and Drake were outstanding, but the surprise package for me comes from 21 Savage, bringing another kind of energy to his delivery this time around, i'm not a fan, but i couldn't deny him this win.

    10. NC-17, the 21 Savage features are always overlooked but this one is to good to skip 9/10
    11. ASTROTHUNDER, its good but it sounds a little generic 4/10
    12. YOSEMITE, this is littt its the new biebs in the trap with NAV 8/10

    14. WHO? WHAT!, the Migos (minus Takeoff) spit some boring bars lol 3/10
    15. BUTTERFLY EFFECT, this song is way too good 10/10
    16. HOUSTONFORNICATION, skip this one 2/10
    17. COFFEE BEAN, hmmmm idk about the beat but Travis is good always 6/10

Standouts are SICKO MODE, STOP TRYING TO BE GOD & BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Overall: 7.29 (rounded down to 7) what a good album this is, i mean it is so much better than Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and Rodeo. Travis is growing as an artist and may soon be able to compete with the best in the business. Just take out the 5 fillers and it could have been the best rap album of the year.

The modulation and echo treatments on the vocals, combined with the frequently torpid tempos, nonetheless make Astroworld ideal for being pumped through an (18 and over) amusement park's sound system near closing time, when the challenge of hitting all the rides has started to turn into an overindulgent, overheated chore.

ASTROWORLD is easily one of Travis' best projects, however, unlike Rodeo it sounds much more light more euphoric.

"Astroworld" is most definitely a return to form for Travis Scott. An admittedly messy and sprawling return to form.

There are still some nice tunes scattered throughout right up until the last track "Coffee Bean" which is a super groovy vibe. One other funny thing I noticed is the insane number of features on this record. James Blake, Tame Impala, Stevie Wonder, Kid Cudi, etc. Just insane!

"Stargazing" opens the album amazingly and "Carousel" continues from here nicely. I also concede that "Sicko Mode" is easily one of the best songs on the album, however there are two small grievances I have with the song. The first beat switch is disruptively abrupt and stops the track in its place for a moment. And Drake's verse about responsibly taking a medication as prescribed ("took half a xan...out like a light") is laughably dumb. Musically though I am a fan of this track as a whole.

Other highlights on the album would be "Stop Trying To Be God", "Skeletons", "Wake Up", "NC-17", and "Can't Say".

I'm not here to share my favourite tracks or the least favorite. I'm here to support the fact that Travis Scott (with a lot of other people, don't lie to yourself) made an amazing work here with Astroworld. We could speak on and on about the advertising made all around this project but these seventeen tracks are way more interesting to discuss.
After digestion of this album, I noticed a (barely) permanent feeling when I listen to any of the 17 songs. I have been analyzing this feeling for quite some time now. And it suddenly appeared to me that the major part of these songs are considered by myself as classics. I don't really know how to explain it but it feels - everytime - that these songs are coming straight from my childhood or early adolescence. It's only been two years since this project dropped and the sensation I have about it still increases. That's incredible. Some songs I frankly and firstly depreciated then became masterpieces I simply couldn't live without. On the other hand I discovered over time new ways to love some songs I already loved since the first listenings. And I think Travis showed us an impressive tour de force for these reasons. Because the feeling that every song here is a classic makes me connect with the original idea of the album, which is that Travis forged his concept around his own childhood and the Six Flags amusement park he frequented in Houston as a child and which we can see a representation of on the album cover. It seems like through his album Travis made me feel and touch his childhood just as much as it connects with mine.
To be clear i think this project borders on perfection. Bad news is: I don't think Travis could ever release a better album although he could - hardly - match it.
Special shoutout to all artists that collabored with Scott and whose names remained in the shadows behind the scene: Kid Cudi, James Blake, The Weeknd and Don Toliver to name a few.

As we see Travis Scott evolve through his music, we can see a clear personality emerge in this album. As much as I was intrigued by his layered instrumentals and catchy lyrics, I was intrigued by his ability to tell a story without the need of concrete words to describe it. This is his most mature work, to date.

There are also more hype tracks such as No Bystanders which compare to Rodeo's tracks such as 3500 and Nightcrawler. While Astroworld doesn't have a sequel to 90210 (a masterpiece that will go down in history) it does have songs that are better than all of the other tracks on Rodeo such as Skeletons, Stop Trying To Be God, and Stargazing. Astroworld paces incredibly well, making it an easy listen. Stargazing sets an energetic and cosmic feel that prepares you for the space sound of some of the bangers in the middle of the album, while Coffee Bean closes the album with a slower introspective feel that shows how dynamic Travis can be. Overall a very unique album in the world of trap that deserves its Grammy nomination.

This album was obtained from a separate dimension only accessible through a secret portal in Azerbaijan by a man named Oblimateus who was capable of traveling into this dimension through first entering a machine whose construction was 40 years in the making. The god of said dimension, Sentry, challenged him to 24 trials to test his mind and body so that he could obtain the first copy of Astroworld to bring back to earth. Before even knowing the name of the album Oblimateus was told by Sentry it was one of the greatest musical achievements any being was capable of producing in any of the known dimensions.

Another being, brother to Sentry known as Travis was the creator of this musical achievement believed twenty years prior to be an impossibility of sound production and writing.

His third studio album, Astroworld, feels like the grand opening of a vision that took a half-decade to perfect, still using the same psychedelic synth warps, diamond-cut drums, and reptilian hooks that initially skyrocketed him to stardom.
