Sheryl Crows best selection of songs for some time. The rock based rhythms are back, as is real groove in a number of the tunes, echoing earlier albums. There are a number of excellent tracks: Halfway There, Long Way Back, the title track Be Myself but for me the standout is Love Will Save The Day. Be Myself is a thoroughly enjoyable, easy to listen to album and I've already played thisSheryl Crows best selection of songs for some time. The record oozes confidence and spunky attitude--a far cry from her more recent country records thanks to the partnership with past collaborators Jeff Trott and Tchad Blake.

There are good songs here, but it sometimes sounds like Sheryl is trying too hard to turn back the clock. [Jun 2017, p.87]

A career as productive as Crow’s is worth exploring, and though the album may not inspire you to dust off her old records, it’s enjoyable, fun, and reassuring in its renewal.
