GregPAug 10, 2004It's amazing how all these no name bands with no fans get great reviews. The critic's are pretty clueless when it comes to music.

WillO.Aug 16, 2004A great combination of many 60s/70s psychadelic freak out bands and abrasive hard rock. They wear their influences on their sleeve, but have enough talent and originality to make it work really well. It's definitely a lot to take in at first, but overall it's a really fantastic listen. I'd give it an 8.5 if possible, so I just rounded up.

BrianCAug 24, 2004This is probably the most unintentionally funny CD I've heard all year. There's more than a few "This Is Spinal Tap" moments to be heard, but what do you expect from a CD with a song titled "The Antlers Of The Midnight Sun." Still, you've got to admire their sincerity and for a sludge-rock band, they hammer you over the head out pretty good.

JakiLiebezeitAug 6, 2005It's seems like people either love or hate this album. But just for the record, i'm right.

RayCAug 14, 2004I thought it was pretty wretched, but to each their own wretched things they like. Unforgivably generic and unappealing. I forgot it was even playing several times while listening. I hope we can still be friends.

rickgAug 17, 2004Yeah, right Greg P. And I bet you've never heard My Bloody Valentine Loveless or any of german krautrock CAN's early stellar releases (1969-1974 in particular). You're the clueless one.

CraigLAug 18, 2004Less straightforward than their speedfreak self-titled album; way more sprawling. Possibly their best, and definitely the mega awesomeness.

TomBAug 20, 2004This is, simply, awful. Like 4 monkeys in a studio who are banging on pots and pans on the label's dime. Critics who like this are too far gone from what constitutes a TUNE to ever be trusted again. Yecch.

GregPAug 24, 2004Well I listened to this pile of steaming hog poo and I'm not impressed at all. The only thing this cd is good for is killing that nasty spider that lived in my room. I dunno how this can be called music, it's just a bunch of random poundage and some scratching sounds. I'll give it a 1 because there were a couple decent riffs.

ScottHAug 24, 2004Probably the worst, most unwelcome thing I've ever heard. Dudes, Karp and Led Zepellin are like garlic and chocolate: two great tastes that don't taste good together.

AsbjornAug 29, 2004Great music! They mixed some of the best music from the 60s and 70s to an unbelievable daring and cool sound.

EduardoMSep 12, 2004No thanks guys! It's like whatsit the guy from Led Zeppelin is stubbing his toe into a megaphone in a completely different building from all these people who are all soloing at the same time. I won't rest until the world sees that this album is two out of ten material.

ChrisCFeb 15, 2005This is good instrumental music that I hated at first but has grown on me immensely. As judging by some of the other reviews, it's the kind of album that takes time and scares off casual listeners -- and that's never a bad thing.

XianBFeb 13, 2006Comets On Fire is the greatest rock'n'roll band on earth! And Jaki is jus right, even if it's not him.

AlexAug 26, 2006Dense sonic noise not for your average pop fan, Blue Cathedral is some truly psychedelic music backed up by fierce instrumentation. If Led Zeppelin or Cream had made it to see the Shoegazing era, they may have recorded an album like this.

This album just may signal the beginning of an exciting new era in rock music.

MojoThis time [COF] have tempered their voluminous superfuzz with scenic bliss. [Oct 2004, p.101]

Uninhibited and hushed in all the right places, its safe to say that Comets on Fire have hit their stride.
