What at first may come across as off-puttingly zany eventually wins you over as you start to relax into the album's peculiar laws and logics. The other thing that helps is the most grabby and conventionally catchy songs are backloaded, so just as you might be starting to tire the welcome home straight arrives to rescue you in the nick of time.

I tend to only rate art that I love! I give this album a 10 for what it does for pushing the genre forward. Dreampop has been stuck in the same soft synth ambient sound for too long and Melody is really setting a new stage with this album. It is short and sweet and covers almost every emotion imaginable.

I love this album from beginning to end. You can hear all the production detail, the amount of attention to every second, Melody has done a great job with her sophomore.

Another pleasant surprise. Melody Prochet teams up with swedish psychedelia group Dungen and they make a moon of a baby; there's light, and there's dark.

It is an album that demands repeat listens, but this is fine, as with each listen we learn a little more of its secrets, but once they have been cracked Bon Voyage becomes something greater than its parts.

Yes, there’s joy to be found in hearing a musician so unshackled from expectation and finding catharsis in the experience. But Boy Voyage lacks a running thread, centrepiece or concept to build itself around. It’s a wild, space-age trip that could do with a return ticket back to Earth.

Bon Voyage celebrates the catharsis of clearing away old wreckage, but it also revels in replacing that mess with new toys.
