At times it is reassuringly familiar but he has spun sounds in intriguing ways exhibiting Daniels unique, enigmatic vision as an artist. His self-assurance and belief have led him to craft one of the finest dance albums of this or any other year.

Broken Knowz sounds cleaner, more restrained and organic than his previous material. [Dec 2016, p.56]

Expressive and loose as the album is, its track titles reveal more about Daniel's headspace.

Daniel still sounds like he's developing his sound with this album, but it's a noble effort, and certainly recommended for fans of Detroit dance music or the rougher, more off-beat side of house.

Broken Knowz does hit a few snags, with some tracks pushing the six-to-eight-minute mark and remaining pretty much static throughout (single "Knowledge of Selfie" comes to mind, the eight-and-a-half-minute track perhaps mirroring the constant repetition in our self obsession), but its shorter, more contained tracks override and stand out, showcasing what Daniel has to offer.
