   I bought this CD because it was on sale. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least that I enjoyed such a mainstream band as much especially since I didn't like Tell Me from a few years back. I absolutely loved this CD. There is a great variety of the type of songs. They are pretty much all great in my opinion and don't include mediocre 'CD FIller' songs.… Expand

   California 37 is more "pop" than any of their previous releases. The album is rather happy-sounding, which rightfully starts with "This Will Be My Year", an upbeat song that inspires listeners to anticipate all the good things to come. The album tracks are full of witty pop cultural references, wrapped in catchy tunes. "50 Ways to Say Goodbye" is a brassy break-up anthem whose intro dubiously resembles the score of "The Phantom of the Opera". "Bruises" is a duet with Ashley Monroe, set in a reunion between two high school friends, which is meant to bring nostalgia to every listener. Other great tracks include "You Can Finally Meet My Mom", "Mermaid", and the title track, "California 37".… Expand

   Got this yesterday for my birthday, its pretty good. My favorite songs are Drive By, Sing Together, and Mermaid, all the other songs are good as well. If you are a person who will compare it to their other awesome albums, you probably won't like it, but if you have a open mind, you'll love it!… Expand

   Train were always a very interesting band. Their music is by far different from what you would occasionally hear these days. The real magic in their music can't really be explained in full. California 37 may not be their best work to date, but it sure is one worth sitting down and listening to. It doesn't really bring Train back to it's roots, but this new sound, which tends to mix in a variety of Alternative sub-genres and brings in plenty more instruments than a normal song, makes the album worthwhile.… Expand
