    Four albums into their career and Dengue Fever show no signs of running short of ideas. They continue to blend an expanding catalogue of global influences with intuitive ease, into music that's fun and entertaining but also has a heart.

    By the time the hypnotic, moody "Durian Dowry" unfolds, it's clear that the accomplish sextet of Dengue Fever is long overdue for a breakout. [May 2011, p.84]

    What it all boils down to is that it can be hard to tell if Dengue Fever is more successful at being novel or being a novelty act. Cannibal Courtship doesn't really resolve those questions about Dengue Fever, but answering them isn't such a big deal when the band sounds like it's having as good a time as it is here.
