  • Summary: Gorky's Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs makes his solo debut with this 14-song effort.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 8
  2. Negative: 0 out of 8
  1. It's not the best thing he's ever done, but it's up there with it.
  2. Sadly, he only briefly reaches the heights of his best Gorky's work. [18 Feb 2006, p.36]
  3. The album's overall flow and structure is decidedly disjointed, with a scattering of tiny, demo-quality tracks adding virtually nothing to the record.
  4. 'Chops' isn't wholly disastrous, but it's all too often a reminder that, for roughly his first decade onstage, Childs was an infuriatingly insular and mildly indulgent performer, and it now appears that he was able to make such genuinely fantastic records in spite of that because of the healthy influence of his band-mates.

Up there with the best albums of last year without doubt. Admittedly it's a tough first listen or so but I'm glad I persevered. I don't think it's bare at all as mentioned by other reviews. The opposite infact: Donkey Island, Costa Rita, Mewn Hi Socasau, Circus time, Surf Rage, Country Girl.... the only weak one id that Slip slip away which is a typical Euros moment of madness really. My brother didn't like this album at the start either but has really gotten in to it recently. Look beneath the madness and see that the melodies and general simplicity are what make it work. Expand

Despite a few album worthy tracks, this album has two major flaws, it's short and yet it feels padded with short tracks of pschadelic nonsense.
