Fully remastered along with 15 previously unreleased bonus tracks collected from the original Woodhouse Studio LP demos and the band's first John Peel sessions respectively. The Comforts of Madness still stands proud as one of the finest albums ever created and this timely repackage is an essential addition to anyone's record collection.

Watching and listening as Masters has spun off in as many different directions as he has only makes this album feel even more special; a brilliant, vivid snapshot of an artist and a band at the very beginning of a fascinating and unpredictable journey.

As a curio from one of the most unsettled times in UK music (pre-grunge and post indie), it's interesting, from an academic rock nerd's perspective. For everyone else, if you're looking for an album that has all the hallmarks of a musical movement but only some of the flair of the leading lights of that scene, here it is. Warts and all.
