1 is the amount of times I listened to the album because it lacks the thrill of reinvention. 1 is the amount of tracks that will help to keep her name in the books-needs more. 1 is what she isn't anymore. 1 is what I hope she will strive for once mastering the techniques of being a true lyricist and vocalist comes into play.-2005

Ashanti is still trying to find a voice that will sell..and she is still failing. I would describe the banality and forced catchiness of the songs, but I couldn't bring myself to listen to the cd more than once.

YAWN...this album was boring with a capital B Ashanti tried and failed to squeeze any amount of emotion out of her voice, so when she sings both love songs and F U songs she sounds nieter "in love" or "in rage" she just sounds tired! the only things saving this album from the 0 star rating is the amazing production on "focus" and TI's amazing guest appearence on "still down"

Some people have no business at all within a ten mile radius of a studio. Ashanti would have to be the shining example of one of these people. With the singing ability of a toenail and talent of a small fly, it is a wonder when people will finally realize her career is on based on excellent marketing and nothing else. With the singing ability of a toenail and talent of a small fly, it is a wonder when people will finally realize her career is on based on excellent marketing and nothing else. Listening to her is bound to cause ear infection and honsetly if she were not so pretty watching her peform would be about as exciting as watching paint dry. Comparing her to Mary J is an insult, but the insults began when she was given the Aretha Franklin Award. Where is the tru talent?? Ah! It is coming April 5th when Faith Evans drops her fourth studio album, The First Lady. Expand

  1. It's no better or worse than her 2002 debut or 2003's Chapter II, with the standout singles, decent album cuts, and filler fluff provided in equal doses.
  2. The album is hampered by needless skits and, at times, too slick production.
  3. Suffers from many of the same problems that tripped up its predecessor: too many skits, too few ideas and a voice that is neither hard nor particularly flowery.
