Day & Age - The Killers
Day & Age Image
  • Summary: The Las Vegas band returns with its its third studio album produced by Stuart Price.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 19 out of 31
  2. Negative: 2 out of 31
  1. Like Vegas itself, Day & Age sometimes leans toward sensory overload. But the pull of its showgirls-and-fool's-gold glory is undeniable.
  2. It's difficult to be bowled over by the fact that The Killers have essentially crafted an enjoyable but fairly throwaway pop record.
  3. Getting mauled by that white tiger sounds a bit more exiting. [Year End 2008]

This is my favorite Killers album, and one of my favorite albums in general. I think the songs have tons of emotion, energy and catchy lyrics to make them memorable. The introduction of the saxophone also adds a nice touch to several of the songs. The songs are also very well balanced with upbeat tracks and downplayed ones, but none of the songs every sound boring or out of place on the record. Expand

The first half of the cd is interesting and catchy, but by the middle, all of the sugary coated synths and brandon's wavering voice gives you a tooth ache. By 'I can't stay', you are pleading to leave. The final song 'goodnight, travel well' is a complete trainwreck. Here is what I have concluded - Hot Fuss will continue to be The Killers best album. Day & Age comes over as over produced and trashy by the end. You would be best off buying the notable tracks off of itunes instead of the whole album: 1. Spaceman 2. Human 3. Losing Touch 4. Joy Ride 5. The World We Live In. Expand

I was absolutely disappointed about this album. I used to be a HUGE fan of the band, but the sax do not work for me. I think it sounds quite kitsh, except for the last song and for "Humans". Expand
