    I got a little excited for this album when i learned it's by Galaxie 500 frontman. I only listened to one track by them: Tugboat. And i really liked it. So i decided to give this a shot.

    It's good, but not great. It's got good music and vocals (his voice is still as good), but nothing sticks. Not like that track did.     A peculiar cove, Wareham is also a viciously acute lyricist with a love for tremolo, and has invented what might be described as quiet heavy metal, or rock’n’roll noir.

    Whilst the front-end and middle of the collection may take some repeat spins to fully earn affection, the two six minute epics that conclude proceedings are unquestionable gems from the first airing.
