I discovered Keaton Henson through Zane Lowe, and instantly fell in love with 'You Don't Know How Lucky You Are'. With similar stage fright present in Keaton, the trembling, soft singing struck a chord with me. The good news is [single "You Don't Know How Lucky You Are"] is not even the best song on his debut album. [Mar 2012, p.89]

[A] startling debut... As his tremulous whisper of a voice travels over deftly plucked, quietly rippling guitar lines, it feels like trespassing on a very small space, filled with enormous private sorrows.

The overall vibe of Dear... is a strangely baroque take on loss and self pity.
