  1. Supergrass has gone from energetic, young and roughshod to energetic, veteran and polished.

Apply megawatt tunes and career-best performances and you’ve got an album to top even 2002’s criminally neglected "Life On Other Planets."
  3. This is grown-up rock, with an adult swagger, from one of today's most gifted songwriting bands.
  4. This isn't a bad record, it's just a laboured and peculiarly joyless one, all those things that Supergrass were once the opposite of.

Did these critics even listen to the album? I'm hard pressed to imagine a single weak track on this entirely cohesive and entertaining album.

Awesome, although there are many songs I do not like.

As a huge fan of the Grass it pains me to say this, but this is a very disappointing album. Seems the boys have overcompensated a little too much for the laidback nature of their last album. After the impressive experimental work on Road to Rouen , this just seems like a step backwards (ie slickly produced (possibly too slick) straight down the line rock songs). Supergrass have done this all before, and they've done it much better. Expand

Agree with Leroy and Chris. Road to Rouen was innovating and inspired, this is just a step back. It's not badly done though, but Supergrass has done it better in the past. Expand
