The seething, sweat-drenched yet shiny Doolittle is the complete package--and still a reason to believe. [Jan 2015, p.108]

Even at 25 years remove, Doolittle's lively morsels still taste startling fresh. [Jan 2015, p.89]

This is a record you need to keep listening to and finding new nuances. The sheer scope of material here will keep you entertained, thrilled and occasionally a little bit freaked out for years to come.

Doolittle was a breakthrough.... The Peel Sessions and B-sides aren't essential, but the previously unreleased demos are fascinating. [Jan 2015, p.134]

Doolittle 25 captures the best of this alt-rock landmark and offers up enough goodies to justify a full-blown celebration.

This three-disc 25th-anniversary package gives the Pixies' surreal 1989 breakthrough the monument it deserves.

At its best, Doolittle was almost impossibly thrilling, packed with evidence of why alt-rock shifted in the Pixies’ wake.

Gg This album is a 10.0. I’d say it occupies 25% of my music listening. The other 75% by Anima, In Rainbows, and Kid A lol.

This is just one of THE best albums ever made! Full stop. Period. Whatever. I know people will say 'everyone's entitled to their own opinion etc.' but why review an album if you're not a fan of that genre of music? I wouldn't go to Taylor Swift's album review and slag it off with a zero review score because I'm not a fan of that type of music, though 'Shake It Off' is quite catchy ;-). Anyway, Doolittle is brilliant and all the extras just make it brilliant-er. So there. Expand

It's so weird and catchy and wonderful. It's been featured in movies and television. It's like aliens beamed down from the future back into the late 80's and made an album. I love that one of the people who wrote a zero review said "it doesn't differentiate from any other modern song." THAT'S BECAUSE IT WAS MADE 25 YEARS AGO! It's not modern at all, but it made the modern sound! Popular music in 1989 was Warrant and Milli Vanilli... This album created and defined a lot of the parameters for the entire indie scene. All that modern music you're complaining about, well you can thank the Pixies for it. Expand
