Take this, the album's third legit release (which, by the way, sounds so balls you can practically hear the dank nugs), pop it in, turn out all the lights, face Mecca, and bow down.

Cryptic and daunting, "Dopesmoker" is the quintessential stoner metal track. Sixteen years since its birth, it remains unsurpassed.

It's an album of endless pleasures, and its arcane, foggy-headed mysteries never stop revealing themselves.

Were it only instrumental, Dopesmoker would be some kind of masterpiece. [Aug 2012, p.55]

This album is essential if you are getting into stoner/doom/drone metal genre. It's extremely influential for artists as diverse as Wolves in the Throne Room, Black Bombaim or the Heavy Eyes. Listen to it, it's a great **** experience. Burn some incense, turn off the lights off and experience the Power of the Riff. 10/10 may sound too much, but this record deserves it! Expand

lovely psychedelic rock and the whole album only cost 84p . Biggest bargain ever . I feel pretty pretentious and pleased with myself for stumbling up a 94 rated album by chance . Expand
  3. If you are at all interested in "doom" as a genre then this is an essential album...I don't believe in albums scoring 10/10 but this comes very close. Turn out the lights, get comfortable put on your headphones and zone out to this audio masterpiece Expand
