  1. Like a latter-day Digital Underground, Black Eyed Peas know how to get a party track moving.
  2. Alternative Press
    80
Better partiers than preachers, these Peas have found their pod. [Sep 2003, p.118]
  3. While such willingness to experiment is admirable, in this case the attempt comes off as slightly desperate and too diffuse.
  4. Blender

Problem is, that kind of constant high gets as dull as life on Prozac. [Aug 2003, p.120]
  5. The unashamed enthusiasm and fun in 'Elephunk' makes BEP the true heirs to the legendary De La Soul.
  6. Here, the group courts the mainstream with an almost comic ferocity, jumping on every bandwagon that's passed.
  7. Filter
    77
    Sweaty, funky and thump-inclined. [#6, p.82]
  8. Mojo
    20
Disappoints big time. [Oct 2003, p.110]
  9. Elephunk drops non-stop hook and hump, an album with almost no missteps and more than its share of undeniable, thumping joy.
  10. The snags occur with the group's efforts at grit and substance.
  11. Spin
    83
[BEP] pick up where the Fugees left off. [Aug 2003, p.119]
  12. Elephunk may not blow up, but it does go pop with enough style and verve to make its lack of substance irrelevant.
  13. Urb
    20
The crew's 1982-ish rhyme schemes and vapid lyrics reach new lows. [Oct 2003, p.85]

The Peas best and most commercial album, Elephunk incorporates enough of the old stuff to keep their loyal fans happy and new stuff to draw inThe Peas best and most commercial album, Elephunk incorporates enough of the old stuff to keep their loyal fans happy and new stuff to draw in the punters. One new inclusion at the time was Fergie, who was possibly key to the success of this album. A better singer than all the other boys her up front vocals drive the songs through. A slightly strange song name choice of 'Lets Get Retarded?' got the media into a storm but it's not a bad song and goes along with the some what crazy nature of the Peas. This album is good if not quite great but its perfect if you just fancy a dance. Full Review »

The Black Eyed Peas uses Fergie's voice so well and the result is their best album yet!
