The Black Eyed Peas uses Fergie's voice so well and the result is their best album yet!

Wheres The Love? and Lets get it Retarded/Started were the anthems of the early 2000s. Will, Apl and Taboos bars and Fergie singing make this project literally pop. hey mama was great too but didnt hit the same.

Not as good as Behind The Front, nothing special. It's alright, nothing more. Features some good songs, and many weak ones. Easily their worst album yet.

Pop-hop at it's finest. It's fun from start to finish. The production is simply yet strong and each track brings something new and quirky. OK, so some of the rapping is a little on the simply side and many old-school fans may feel they went too commercial, but it's a difficult album to dislike.
    One of 00's defining albums.

This is an album that really focuses on the good old hip hop. Fresh beats and rhymes makes this album by the Peas a real cult classic. No one song is consistently annoying or maddening.

Overall, not bad of an album. "Shut Up," "Where is the Love" and "Let's Get it Started" were excellent tracks that made the album worth listening.

Though Elephunk provides some pretty good tunes it falls in and out of meaning for example "Where Is The Love" provides us with a plesant meaning while "My Humps" is about Fergie humps. I find it really hard like something like that.

A good album with a strong sense of self with nothing more than very raw sound that still stays within the Hip Hop genre. This album is superbly individual, exciting and introduces a great sound that is to be called The Black Eyed Peas.

POSITIVE - This album offers a very raw sound that kept BEP within the Hip Hop genre but with the addition of Fergie they just managed to cross over into the pop genre, and this - is a good thing. Each track has a very individual sound, a sound you can listen to for 'chilling' purposes, but turn it up - and it becomes an unexpectingly loud album for dancing purposes. NEGATIVE - I feelPOSITIVE - This album offers a very raw sound that kept BEP within the Hip Hop genre but with the addition of Fergie they just managed to cross over into the pop genre, and this - is a good thing. NEGATIVE - I feel considering they are a 'group' there are alot of solo efforts on the album, or duets. Reading the small print you notice a not-so-fair ratio of tracks that include vocals from backing artists, and miss out the group themselves. Now - another point i feel is negative (although don't focus on it to much) is the fact that the singles they released from the album are mixed quite severely, given this, the singles are better than the album versions, but why do that to the fans ? Selling the album to them with songs that are not-quite-as-good as the one's they heard on the radio?
OVERALL - A quirky album that all in all deserves to go down in history as one of the best re-birth albums of all time. It may not be a 10/10 for effort or overall sound, but don't overlook this album, it's one for collection.

The Peas best and most commercial album, Elephunk incorporates enough of the old stuff to keep their loyal fans happy and new stuff to draw in the punters. One new inclusion at the time was Fergie, who was possibly key to the success of this album. A better singer than all the other boys her up front vocals drive the songs through. This album is good if not quite great but its perfect if you just fancy a dance. Expand

This was overall a good cd. It had a one questionable song, Let's Get Retarded? Maybe it had a hidden meaning, but I didn't get it. What really disspointed me was that the song was just like Let's get it Started. Overall though, most songs were above average.

Funk hip hop as uninpsired as Slum Village. The biggest dissapointment is that this is done willingly for radio play.

The crew's 1982-ish rhyme schemes and vapid lyrics reach new lows. [Oct 2003, p.85]
  3. Elephunk may not blow up, but it does go pop with enough style and verve to make its lack of substance irrelevant.
