Jul 17, 2015Behind all the anger, desperation and violence, you feel their souls exploding in such convincing ways that there's little doubt these guys are a nightmare... you would never like not to have.

Mar 21, 2012The only phrase I can use to describe this album is: brutal. Death Grips is such a refreshing piece of music and is completely different from all the other "indie" rap acts out there right now. "Takyon" has to be my favorite song on this album and one of my favorites in 2011.

Jan 16, 2016This album introduced to a sound i have experienced before and i quickly fell in love with it. Death Grips are one of the best acts of our time for doing something so original musically and doing it successfully

Dec 9, 2013If hip-hop hadn't started falling out of fashion in the late 90s, this is exactly what we'd be listening to on Radio 1 every day. Surely that isn't a bad thing when you consider how damn good this sounds.

Aug 30, 2016This is seriously one of the most influential pieces of art ever created, if you do not agree, maybe you need to take a good hard objective listen and stop being a dumb prude

Feb 25, 2016when i first heard this album it blew my mind. MC Ride's highly aggressive lyrical style flows superbly over the raw unusual production crafted by Zach hill. regardless what people say this album is pure rawness at its finest.

Feb 17, 2017I have to agree with many people that some of what they do sounds like just a bunch of noise, but what they do is more than that, Death Grips can make catchy aggressive songs like Guillotine, and more angry, noisy songs like Takyon.

Oct 8, 2019I **** with this
I **** the music
I make it cum
I **** the music with my serpent tounge -
Jan 2, 2021Amazing, truly amazing, its close to perfection for me but the final song of the album just slips slightly from the level of the rest of the album and for that reason I cant give it 10/10, would give it a 9.5 if possible though.

Sep 12, 2022it's like a friendly attack on the ears, worsened my hearing even more but other that, its a masterpiece, great first full project

Jan 9, 2012What at first appears to be aggression is actually 100 per cent anguish, and the prevailing sense is that, like Black Flag, every ounce of that angst has been funnelled into edge, bone-crunching rigour and the sculpting of their largely unprecedented style into austere angles.
-
Jan 9, 2012You come away thinking, despite all the aggro, these Death Grips guys must be an awful lot of fun.

Jan 9, 2012Track-for-track the birth of a new legend? Absolutely.
