Stunningly original understated ironic musical parody that lampoons the two musicians in a band that are the biggest social losers since Charlie Brown came on the scene 50 years ago!

This is a top effort and is a must have for those that like to indulge in Beck / Beastie Boys type of stylistic comical rifts.

Interesting and fun stuff. Can grate on you after a while, but a good listen the first few times! Good music as well as lyrics too.

This is a fun album that works as a comedy album for fans of the HBO show, but that is also fun for anyone who hasn't heard about FotC before. Very enjoyable!

This is a pretty good mix of songs featured on FOTC's HBO show. If you've heard any of the band's live recordings, this album pales in comparison, but it is interesting to hear a more polished Bret and Jemaine. Great album for fans, but if you aren't already hip to FOTC probably not the place I'd recommend starting.

It's a good album, but anybody who's familiar with the band's live act (especially their HBO special) should realize that FOTC's comedy comes not from funny references but their perfect comic timing. They've sacrificed much of the awesome awkwardness of their live act for slick production, which kills much of the humor, like a funny stand-up comedian forced into a merely decent sitcom. Fans of the show will like it, but both the show and album suffer from this overproduction. Expand

It's a decent enough album, but there's no new content. Don't get me wrong, though, the material that is there (mostly from the show) is pretty good.

Even though this album contains no new material, it makes for a great laugh here and there.

  1. The music is clever and catchy enough to give it merit for repeated listens. Buy the DVD first to get the full story and then pick this up for road trip sing-alongs.
  2. The lyrics hold their own as comedy poetry, and the album as a whole is stuffed with feel-good laughs.

Fans of the TV show will have heard versions of almost all these songs before. The problem is, they've also seen these songs before.
