Quite possibly his best album in a career already studded with accolades.

It’s a magnificent return to form.

FTHC is likely to hit hardest with those who have grown with Frank, witnessing his evolution and the ways in which it’s helped chronicle their own. That’s not to say there’s not much to enjoy for new fans, though, who will no doubt find an empathetic ally in a man whose honesty and anger and heart continue to inspire.

If you felt Be More Kind and No Man’s Land missed the mark, FTHC will remind you of why you fell for Frank in the first place.

What follows isn’t a retreat, however, but more of a re-entrenchment, a record that tackles aging, loss, and reconciliation. It's not without surprises.

Cannot find fault with this album. Having being a fan for so long this holds it own against EKMB and I will never get bored of listening to it.

It's a good, solid set of songs. While I think Turners strength is in his lyrics, his style is a bit formulaic for my liking on this album. A strange combination of Green Day, Billy Bragg and Ed Sheeran (this is a hard one to explain but it's definitely there for me) comes to mind (musically). There is a big Billy Bragg influence as well. I'm a big fan of Bragg so I'd be confident of Frank Turner growing on me further. I'm hoping to see Turner play these songs live next month when he's on tour so I will revisit this then with a more informed opinion. The fact that he's gotten to album number 9 means he's got something. Expand
