  1. For a genre that once sounded astonishingly futuristic, it is quite remarkable how tired and old house sounds now.
  2. Generation is a sonic mess, all weightless synth swish, dull beats, and maybe-ironic midi horns.

A low-rent version of the Streets without Mike Skinner's wit, they're just a couple of palookas mouthing off in the pub. [Nov 2005, p.131]
  4. Generation betrays Audio Bullys' aspirations to say Something Important, undeterred by the absence of either insight or eloquence.
  5. Because most of the time they choose attitude over melody or innovation, Generation slips into would-have, could-have territory.

I agree that they try to do much, too many styles crammed into one album but I found it a thoroughly enjoyable listen. I bought it on the strength of their first album and this didn't disappoint. Full Review »
