The Amazing like to entice and then awe, always bringing songs back to the guitars, which sound like they're being played by a real human person, until they burst into shards of jagged, whirling rainbows.

The album as a whole clearly values the arrangements and overall instrumental performances perhaps even more than the singing, with numerous extended codas and breaks where the performers stretch out to the full.

With prog moodiness and pastoral folkiness both hanging heavily over The Amazing, it's the more psychedelic edges that twirl around the songs, dragging them into tangled and weird territory, that makes Gentle Stream occasionally exceptional.

[Gentle Stream] is gorgeous sun-dappled psych, crossing the lighter side of paisley underground with Nick Drake's dreaminess. [Dec 2011, p.93]

A fine follow-up, Gentle Stream captures its namesake in soft, skilled hands.

It's possible that fans of mellow, laid-back rock will savor this album, but overall, lethargy overwhelms inventiveness on all but a handful of tracks.
