Jun 28, 2011With the exception of the always inventive playing of guitarist Wes Borland, here Limp Bizkit sound like a band whose time has passed. Given that this is a group that boorishly exemplified the empty materialism and crass self-centredness that lurked at nu-metal's core, this is surely no bad thing.

Thei got his cd yesterday, and listened it over and over again. Limp bizkit follows its old music, but with better lyrics, and better rhythm. The songs are in my opinion also harder than 10 years ago. The song Gold Cobra is simply amazing. The album is a must buy for lb fans, but those who never were into them, should try this album anyways.… Expand

Why is everyone so down on numetal?? ItYeah sure Dust has been a dick. The media love bagging this band and don't even give them a chance.
Why is everyone so down on numetal?? It has become the most unfashionable music genre for some reason. Well I like it, its rhythmic, energetic and aggressive. I bet there are plenty of closet numetal fans still out there. If you are one of them you will love this record. Easily the best since Chocolate Starfish.

This is a great album!!!If you didn't like Limp Bizkit a decade ago, then you won't now... This is for true Limp Bizkit fans to appreciate. This is a great album!!! By comparison, it is the best album since Three Dollar Bill, Ya'll$. It's edgier than Significant Other, but just as addictive. LB takes their music to another level on this album with new synergistic sounds that can only be created by the original band line-up. The technical sound of the album, as well as the lyrics, is arguably better than anything they have ever done. There are some signature Limp Bizkit moments of silliness on the album, but these moments are a blast for the true fans who aren't going to over-analyze. Put it on and start rockin' to the instant party that ensues... The LB is BACK, BABAAAAAAaaaay...!… Expand

I wasn't expecting much when I bought this album, but it was what I needed and what I wanted, and more. The lyrics sucks, the rhymes are **** But the music is so vivid and kick ass, it got me headbanging the first time I played it, since "Bring it Back". Durst will never stop writing whines about his sad life and how nobody gets him, but it appears having Borland back gave the band something to use. I have to give it 8/10 because of the metal it's got, the other 2 points are because they still make lame songs. In this album, those are 90210, Loser, Douchebag, etc. But I can honestly say the rest of the album is golden. Gold Cobra, ****… Expand

I appreciate the rawness but I also miss the 1999-2003 Bizkit sound (particuarly the more pop-oriented riffs, Fred's voice and Lethal's scratching).
Almost every song stands out in some way, what with the riffs of "Bring it Back", "Douche Bag", "Autotunage", "Why Try", "Killer in You" and "Shotgun"; the amazing yet simplistic synth of "Loser"; the chorus of "Gold Cobra"; the climax and lyricism of "Walking Away" and finally Lethal's session on "90.2.10".
"Shark Attack" is by far the weakest song on the album. Could be passable if Fred still retained his old voice.
Standard bonus tracks are also amazing, particularly "My Own Cobain" for its ending.
Exclusive tracks just make me cringe.

It provided us with greats such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden and a host of others, but it also steam-rolled our ear-buds with Limp Bizkit. A band that had moments of brilliance, but for the most part it was dogged down by Dursts mediocrity. It comes no surprise that Gold Cobra isn't a step into the new millennium, but rather a collection of 90s nu metal, served in a shiny new wrapper. Great for annoying the Hannah Montana kids, but dismal for personal enjoyment.… Expand
