Golden contains several songs that sound custom-made for rolling the window down and turning the volume up.... However, any Lady A disc has to contain at least a couple of heartbreaking ballads, and they don't disappoint here.

The mulch-platinum country trio's fourth LP is a refreshing return to form after the dull post-"Need You Now" phase of their career. [10 May 2013, p.67]
  3. May 6, 2013
Golden puts some welcome bite back into the proceedings with a more minimalist approach to production and a more substantive approach to the lyrics, which gives the whole album a crisper, more present feeling.
  4. May 7, 2013
Despite the presence of utterly infectious single “Downtown” and the jangly “Better Off Now That You’re Gone,” the first half of Golden is a little too polished, as if the trio couldn’t escape the pull of Own the Night’s gravitas.
  5. May 6, 2013
So cheerful is Golden that it seems a little churlish to complain that the songs here aren't grabbers: they're slow burns, designed to sink into the subconscious through repeated plays on radio, in-store sound systems, waiting rooms, and bumper music.
  6. May 7, 2013
An overall sedate, relatively predictable album.

Golden provides Lady Antebellums tracks to shine like gold and be enjoyable to listen. It could have some few changes here and there, but who cares! It's already good! Full Review »
