what a mess. i mean there is some plot running through it but its impossible to tell whats going on as the lead singer's WIERD voice is at times incomprehensible. some of the tracks sound like random notes are being played! There are a few good tracks (particularly TEN SPEED..... and THE SUFFERING) but the album is just as incomprehensible as the title. I also felt really nerdy what a mess. i mean there is some plot running through it but its impossible to tell whats going on as the lead singer's WIERD voice is at times incomprehensible. some of the tracks sound like random notes are being played! With all their characters and stories, i was just plain confused. The track names are incredibly dumb as well. (APOLLO: THE WRITING WRITER). well duh. what else does a writer do? I really think this band has potential. I just want them to stop with their story and make a straight-forward album. This album is OK if you listen to it not thinking about the plot. But otherwise without the plot what would be the point in pointless 7-minute tracks that seem like they will never end? If u really want this CD get it burned off someone, which is what I did. Expand

I used to love Coheed and Cambria but this album leaves much to be desired. They could use more song writing ability, less guitar wankery. All of these songs just get boring long before they're over and with no interesting hooks, vocally or from the guitars, there's nothing to grasp on to. Overall disappointing album from a once promising band.

While the overlong album sometimes threatens to bury C&C with its own excess, the craftsmanship suggests the band is more than capable of breaking into the mainstream. [24 Sep 2005]

    [A] dense, inventive disc. [Oct 2005, p.134]
  3. C&C's music factory comes across as a unique, modern perspective of both rock's past and present.
